The main purpose of the job
We are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our finance/business office team. The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the credit policies and procedures of the company, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices and minimizing bad debt risk. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of credit control principles, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. While also understanding the complexities of the mental health space and being able to communicate in both a professional and empathetic manner.
The post-holder’s duties will include:
- Carrying out specific treatment and intervention programme with Day Patients either in group and/or individual therapy.
- Preparation and delivery of psychoeducation and process groups to patients.
- Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in reviewing and adapting the therapy programme to meet patients’ needs.
- Ensuring the Day therapy programme runs effectively and to provide a range of psychotherapy approaches appropriate for patients.
- Demonstrate flexibility with regard to various demands in order to meet patients’ needs.
- Play an active role as a part of the multidisciplinary team providing feedback on assessments, therapy sessions and groups allied health team members on a daily basis.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of individuals in order to develop and deliver therapeutic interventions as appropriate based on therapeutic needs and ability to participate in the day programme. Assessments undertaken will include risk assessments for day patients.
- To act and manage risk in relation to Day Therapy patients following Day Therapy risk protocols.
Salary: Salary will be dependant on experience, plus a London Allowance of £4,000 per annum added to all permanent posts.

Requirements
The following skills and qualifications are essential:
- Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management, ideally within a mental health/care space.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and credit control procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience with accounting and hospital software, such as Advanced Financials and Caresys/Carecloud is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
