Michaella has extensive professional experience working with a diverse range of client groups, including those with mental health conditions, ASD, neurodiversity, medically unexplained symptoms, and dual diagnoses of substance misuse and mental health conditions. She runs weekly group therapy sessions as part of the general psychiatry therapy programme at Nightingale Hospital, while also seeing patients on an individual basis.
Her experience spans both individual and group settings, working with adults, adolescents, and children. Michaella has also received further training in body language analysis from Tel-Chai Academy and has worked with individuals with disabilities and dementia. She is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel supported, empowered, and able to explore their challenges at their own pace.
Personal statement
Michaella is an expressive arts psychotherapist who takes a holistic, client-led approach in her practice. She fosters a therapeutic environment where both verbal and non-verbal forms of expression can coexist, integrating psychodynamic, humanistic, and somatic practices, alongside creative tools like mindfulness, movement, play, and arts. Michaella believes in the power of the body to communicate when words are limiting, allowing clients to explore and process emotions in a safe and supportive space.
With extensive experience working with diverse client groups, Michaella’s focus is on empowering clients to address their challenges at their own pace, with creativity considered even if not always employed. She tailors her approach to meet the needs of her wide range of adult, adolescent, and child clients. Michaella is dedicated to helping individuals explore their emotions and healing journey, unlocking self-awareness, emotional release, and personal growth to manage well-being and life challenges.
