Professional experience
Dr George Resek has been a consultant psychiatrist in private practice in central London for over 40 years. He received training in psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh, the Medical Research Council and University College Hospital London. He treats a wide range of adult psychiatric disorders in his practice which combines a psychotherapeutic approach with medications where necessary.
Dr Resek has been admitting patients to Nightingale Hospital since it first opened in 1987. He also visits the London Clinic, Wellington and Cromwell Hospitals regularly for liaison treatment of neurological, surgical and medical patients.
He refers to psychotherapists when further specialised therapies are indicated. He is a member of the advisory committees of the Centre for Reproductive & Genetic Health and Nightingale Hospital.
Personal statement
Dr Resek has been driven primarily by personal clinical care that offers him the opportunity to devote himself to the patient, with regular and close supportive follow-up as needed. Additional to office consultations, he is usually available to assist patients by telephone and email.
Dr Resek keeps up to date and informed as per continuing professional development guidelines laid down by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the General Medical Council, by external conferences and lectures as well as personal study and in-house consultant group support meetings.
Dr Resek is married and considers himself a family man. Outside of work, his hobbies include music, reading, tennis and cycling.
