Professional experience

Debora’s field of expertise is Clinical Psychology, with a five-year CBT-oriented degree from the University of Malaga, Spain. She completed her internship as a Resident Clinical Psychologist in a prison setting, which provided her with the opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, as well as those struggling with substance misuse and complex psychological disorders.

Her experience in the UK includes mentoring and counselling teenagers using existential psychotherapy and providing CBT-oriented therapies for adults with depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD, PTSD, schizoaffective disorder, and personality disorders. She has worked at Priory North London and NHS Foundation Trusts, including CNWL Brent Community Services, Camden & Islington Highgate Mental Health Centre, and the Huntley Centre at St. Pancras Hospital, both within acute wards.

Personal statement

As a Counseling and Clinical Psychologist with a person-centered approach, Debora tailors her work to meet each client’s unique needs and personality style, aiming to support genuine and sustainable progress. She has helped individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, relationship issues, stress, and anger management.

Understanding that seeking psychological help can be a daunting step, Debora works collaboratively with clients to create a safe and relaxed environment where they feel comfortable sharing their struggles. Her approach is warm, supportive, open, and collaborative, ensuring that clients feel heard and respected. She helps them gain a deeper understanding of their needs, conflicts, worries, defense mechanisms, priorities, and relational patterns, enabling them to explore healthier ways of behaving and relating to others.

Debora believes it is essential for clients to understand their therapeutic process and track their progress. She regularly invites and provides feedback to ensure that therapy remains effective and aligned with the client’s goals. While she offers short-term support, she finds that longer-term work with periodic reviews is often more effective in fostering lasting change and stability.
