Sumitra is a qualified integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. She is a registered member of the BACP and practices within their ethical framework.
Sumitra embarked on her journey into psychotherapy shortly after earning her psychology degree. She has also completed a Masters in Clinical Forensic Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Sumitra has worked in the NHS and the private mental health sector including specialised forensic services, eating disorder services, personality disorder services, rehab psychosis services and general psychiatry outpatient services.
Personal statement
Being an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, Sumitra uses a range of different therapies. She draws upon the Person-Centred approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic approach and Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to enable clients to develop their self-awareness whilst working collaboratively.
Sumitra firmly believes in the individuality of each client, recognising that flexibility is crucial to addressing their individual needs. She adeptly tailors her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client, employing various types of therapies as necessary. One size does not fit all.
