The main purpose of the job

  • Preparing meals for patients in the hospital, under the guidance of the HeadChef and Sous chef.
  • To prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with speciality
  • Supervise and assist members of staff working with you
  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef to create and develop new dishes and menus
  • Monitor portion and waste control.
  • Ensure you and your team maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food hygiene, meetingrequired quality standards
  • Ensure the rules relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times
  • Responsible for keeping up-to-date with hospital policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Health & safety and food hygiene course certificates
  • A minimum of 3 years kitchen experience
  • Great cooking skills
  • Pastry skills
  • Exceptional presentation with a passion for food
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to delegate appropriately
  • A flexible approach towards shift requirements and to undertake tasks as requested by the Head Chef.
  • Ability to undertake all mandatory training.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
